Oh.. another random thing came to my mind...
It seems that a female being bi or lesbo is more acceptable in the society than a male being gay/bi..

Just a random though..

And what goes to the rest of the post.. I completely agree.. Aslong as its not intended as a direct insult, Im perfectly fine with it.
Due to past issues relating to personal matters on these forums. I'd rather not go deeper in that subject. >.<

Does it really matter if it's a choice, or if it's a consequence? Last I checked, our society isn't based on restrictions that we place on things that aren't even remotely criminal or dangerous to others. It's about freedoms of those things and working in a way where EVERYONE can be allowed to make choices for themselves, not have others make choices for them.

The point is null. We shouldn't even be talking about why someone is the way they are. Homosexuality isn't psycopathy, it isn't being a serial killer, it isn't a threat to society or to others' health.

Sure it looks like they don't have a choice, like you said who wants to be rediculed? Why are people gay then? I don't know the answer to that question. Maybe its because they enjoy the sexual gratifiation of having sex with the same gender. Is that about right?
Oh God can this thread please be closed? Just to protect people like this from themselves? I'm quite convinced it's healthy for teenagers to discuss topics they know next to nothing about, but there should be some willingness to read and learn about the topic as well. Otherwise it will just boil down to this kind of trollish ignorant screaming fests. In my country you would not just be laughed away making these sort of statements, but could possibly be charged and fined as well. If you wish to continue this 'discussion' at least try to google some information or something. The scientific community is already way past the 'choice' discussion. Still can't believe people are still using this dribble as an argument. And no, the word 'gay' does not offend me. This kind of stupidity does.

Yeah this thread is beginning to be the flame thread of the week, honestly. That's the only reason it has grown to 3 pages in about 4 hours

Alot of arguments in the upcoming votes on the proposition on gay marraige would argue that a child being raised by homosexuals is not as healthy as being raised by a man and woman. Lets not get into an argument about abusive parents etc. Im just stating one of the arguments on that prop.

Actually it does.. there's a segment of society that believes that homosexuality must be a choice, otherwise it demonstrates a major flaw in their religious beliefs. All other attacks against homosexuals stems from this basic illogical premise.

This thread needs to be closed very very quickly. Do we even have mods anymore? I would think this would stick out like a sore, sore thumb.

I would agree this is a very controversial topic and it could get out of hand.

I believe the issue that the OP was focused on was the issue of speech, not whether homosexuality is a choice. Should we prevent people from using language that homosexuals might find offensive? I've given my opinion on it, and I think that issue needs to be the focus of the topic... not medical and genetic issue that we know little about.

still in high-school eh?
its plainly obvious, from the eyes of a history major, that you have no comprehension of what you are talking about.
genetics is FAR more complicated than the 26 chromosomes, and if it werent, after about the first 100,000 people, we would run out of options for differentiation. there may not be a "gay" chromsome but there is certainly some receptor that alters sexual preference, and homosexuality is not limited to humans, which makes it apparent that on some base genetic level something gets mixed up when determining a persons sexuality. just because science has not yet found it, does not mean its existence is deniable, ANYONE in a scientific field would understand this, which is why i am skeptical to believe you have even graduated from high school, either that or you are studying genetics at the "university of anti-genetic genetic research and creationist science for backwater-hicks."

remember, people have their own judgement and its okay if our opinion don't match others. Instead of forcing people to obey and accept another opinion, in this case "Gay and topic related to it" we should just let people do what they want. Some people out there is opposite of "Gay" and say its the worst thing next to belief of devils. While other like me, don't care and have a open mind and are accepting of this.

People here state their opinion on this matters and we shouldn't flame them for it. Rather we should listen and be enlighten by other's point of view.

As for splash_79, if you have a problem with this thread, take it up with a mods and see if they want to close it.

Hey mon, you may be right, but the flame at the end helps these things spiral into closure.

Creationists. Now there's a topic for a new thread.

Im aware that the human genome is far more complex than the 26 chromosomes and yes there are many things that effect our upbringing in the early embroyonic stages of fetal development. Maybe I rushed into that statement before actually thinking. I apologize.

I requested closure due to Pollo's politically based post, Not because of the general discussion that is (or was) progressing nicely. We just need to keep the "whiz bang" politics out of this discussion.
